Harleston has a variety of places to eat, drink, or pick up a snack.  Whatever you're looking for, from a full sit down meal, a light bite at lunchtime, a lovely coffee, or a simple take away to eat at your leisure, there will be something for you.

Most of the places are in the town centre.  For those that are outside of the town centre, we’ve included walking and driving times from the market square.

Momiji Japanese Restaurant and Bar

A Japanese restaurant and bar, based upon the hugely popular type of casual eating/drinking establishment known in Japanese as IZAKAYA.The best way to enjoy your meal at MOMIJI is to choose a variety of dishes and share them with your group, whether you are “two” or a larger group, sharing is definitely the best way to enjoy a variety of flavours, textures and cooking styles. If you would prefer to order individually please just mention this to the waiting staff and we will do our best to serve dishes simultaneously.We also offer a SET MENU – which is a great introduction, although many regular customers like it so much they have it every visit! The Set Menu is designed to share, offering a combination of seafood and meat dishes followed by dessert. Vegetarian and non-meat options are also available.

Mrs Clarke's General Store

An eclectic mix of home, interiors and gifts, plus a coffee bar offering locally-sourced food and drink. Mrs Clarke is the creator of the Howie and Bo range of chalk paints, produced in Suffolk, perfect for furniture restoration, interior decorating and upcycling projects. The coffee bar has award-winning pies, pates, quiches, cakes and sharing platters, with gluten-free and vegetarian options available.

The Broken Egg

The Broken Egg Cafe is a short walk from Harleston with footpaths from the town centre providing breakfast, lightbites, lunches, childrens meals and homemade cakes.


We offer cooked food from 8.30am with last orders for hot food at 3pm everyday.


We are keen to try and cater for all dietary requirements, so please if there is something on the menu you fancy have a chat with us and we will see if we can alter it to meet your requirements.


Our Free Range Eggs are located in the Egg Shed just outside the cafe.


Come and see our friendly pygmy goats, Billy, Daisy, Emmy, Coco, Blueberry and Honey.

They have a play area just outside the cafe and love meeting people.

Marsh Larder

Marsh Larder is situated at Shotford Hall on the outskirts of Harleston. It's position gives the farm a unique character with its steep fields, open views and the marshland meadows where the cattle graze. The cafe has a selection of homemade and freshly prepared food: homemade cakes, afternoon teas, soup, sandwiches, toasties, and paninis with a wide variety of fillings.A scrumptious breakfast menu, including the Super Shotford breakfast or a vegetarian option (breakfast served until 3 pm). Cycling and ramblers groups are welcome - there is plenty of outside covered space where bikes can be left and there is seating both inside and outside.1.0 miles outside of town centre: Walk 21 min; Car 5 min.

The Egg 'n' Easel Cafe
